I was wondering if people still stick to the recommended interval which is 55K miles/ 4 years or due to new materials used in timing belts, would be safe to Bumper cover and front clip is only an hour or so, so dropping the engine to get to the rear chains is a curious call. And bunch of other parts. Search for Audi A8 4.2 BVJ timing chain replacement Forum Some info on the cooler/O-rings replacement and other parts to replace while the front clip is off in discussion here within DasuberS8's thread.

Goes to show you the value of reducing oil change intervals, and doing an annual regardless of mileage driven, etc. Unfamiliar with the number of tensioners and chain slides/guides it takes to completely service the 3.0T motor in your car, but as you said, you did what you could with engine still in the car.

Hi Folks,Welcome to another DYI. In this episode i show you how to upgrade the timing chain to a newer revision on a VW polo 1.2 tsi 2011 year model. This ca

what you should be asking about is if you should replace the timing chain GUIDES. they are made of plastic and often are the likely part to fail. you're at around the point to be kinda worrying, but not quite. i would say shoot for ~100k. but plenty of b6s have made it far beyond that. drive her nice, change the oil a lot and you should be fine.
The timing chain is the crucial link between the top and bottom of your engine. It connects the crankshaft and the camshaft together so that your transmission turns in harmony with your engine. Without that connection, you lose control of your wheels. Most Volkswagen timing chains are made to last at least 120,000 miles.
Researched By AutoPadre Research Team. Last Updated 2023-06-05. From model years 2014 to 2023 all Subaru Foresters have timing chains. From model years 2011 to 2013 the naturally aspirated Foresters have timing chains while the turbo Foresters have timing belts. Prior to 2013 all Foresters have timing belts. All Forester engines are interference.
I have the motor out of my 2007 S4 and was going to replace the cam adjusters, however I thought it might be a good time to to replace the upper guides for extra piece of mind. Is there a PDF or a good source someone could direct me to about setting the cam chain timing during reassembly.

Yes, you can upgrade some of the guides. There are 3 chains, 2 time the 4 cams, and 1 times the other two with the crank. The 2 that time the cams are different, and cannot be replaced with rs4 parts, but the 1 that times the crank can be replaced with rs4 parts, and that’s the one that fails most often. 2.
The timing belt, tensioners and rollers were all replaced. If the noise continues to get worse please let me know." On April 5th, roughly 48 hours after getting the car back, my wife took the car on an extended freeway drive for the first time since the timing belt replacement. Half-way to her destination, at 120,455 miles (59 miles after 4pLA1.
