I believe most far cry players just don't play multiplayer fps, so you would need an audience outside of the core fans. Maybe a free to play multiplayer like halo or a spin off far cry pvp could've worked. If something like that released right now it might even have a real chance against all the recent disappointing fps releases.
Far cry 4 is the fourth installment of the far cry series. The location where the game takes place in a fictional country called Kyrat. It is a fictional country in parts of the Himalayas. In this game, the player’s main focus is on the exploration and combat with the opponent soldiers and they also battle with wild and very dangerous animals.
The last bypass for Far Cry multiplayer through Uplay was for the third, almost immediately patched iirc (also servers have been eventually shut down this year), but Lan multiplayer was also possible through programs like Hamachi, Tunngle etc. , FC2 should have a private servers modification like Plutonium for Black Ops and for the later ones it's (currently) not possible to play multiplayer
