So when its like that, the media/gps display is fully lit too. And I would assume when it’s dark outside it would go to the dark mode, but it doesn’t. You need to turn it down a notch, so its “less lit” and then it dims all the dash and the displays by one notch, which makes the gps map turn into night mode.
I believe there are 3 settings on that brightness wheel. Rolled all the way up turns all the lights to max brightness and turns on all the interior over head lights. One notch down from that keeps daytime brightness on for the screen but turns off the over head map lights and one notch below that allows the auto dimming to occur.

So it seems as if I can do a few different things. 1. Leave the lights on Auto and the uconnect setting on auto. 2. Put the dimmer switch up but not on the two highest settings and keep the uconnect on auto. 3. Leave it always on night time.
